Freedom.

Jasmine was right. When she got home her mother was PISSED. She had known someone else had taken her phone to text her and it did not bode well. Which, of course, led to a week of being grounded. Fuck. Her phone had been confiscated but at least she still had her laptop. Jasmine pulled open her blog and let out a slow sigh. In the blog she wrote about her fantasy world. In this world she was a queen, a noble ruler who took care of her people by traveling the realm under cover.
It was with this that Jasmine began to relax. Of course she could not forget about random boys showing up in her home, abducting her and then texting her mother all while claiming they want to marry her and hiding some secret about another boy in the picture. Jasmine's fingers paused over the keys of her keyboard. She had been typing out a scene where her and her valiant knight were saving a female from a band of thugs but.... she could not focus. Who was the other guy? What was all this... and why did she keep having that dream.
Jasmine let out a sigh. She needed to clear her head. "Unhand her fiend!" Jasmine yelled to the thugs. One charged her and caused her to jump back. The man was like a mountain, six feet four at least if not taller and he held a sword that was almost as long as she was tall. Yet she did not cower. With her small rapier She squared off against him. Despite his scary weapon and size he proved no match for her and she quickly dispatched him.
In the time it took Jasmine to dispatch one Erik had dispatched the other four. The women, still tied up, sat against the tree in tears. She had not noticed the rescue that Jasmine and Erik had just performed. Poor girl. With a sheathing of her Rapier Jasmine quickly walked over to her and began to undo the bindings.
It was then that the girl threw herself into Jasmine's arms, indiscriminately the girl cried against her about the woes of her life...
Jasmine smiled as the scene played out. She was heroic and brave in her world. This was very different from the real world where she hid in the back of class and used hate and anger to make everyone avoid her. Her fingers were drumming furiously on the keyboard for about three hours. She cranked out an entire new chapter before she felt content with her work. At that point Jasmine put the laptop away and laid back in bed. It was nice. Her room was a soft grey color with purple accents. Her bedding was a mix of grey black and purple and her floor was wood with a soft purple carpet. On her walls were pictures of Japanese Rock groups she spent a lot of time looking at and listening too.
Jasmine could not help but wonder for the millionth time what it would be like if she could just.... run away. To escape the world and get away from this... boring life. She could almost convince herself the last forty eight hours were complete bull shit and that she had imagined it all. It was easier when she tried to lump it together with the idea that she had seen brownies and spoke to them as a kid. Easier to lump the fairy tales together in her head and assume they were not real... to pretend.
Thunk...
Jasmine shot up as something hit her window. A glance at her clock and she realized she had lost herself in thought till the point where the sun had gone down and it was now 11 pm. Jesus... how could one zone out so much? Yet she had....
Jasmine had a tendency to do that, to completely lose herself in thought. She would be one place for a while... then gone. Completely out of it. Her chest rose and fell with the sudden rush she felt from being pulled from her own thoughts. Her gaze going around her room as if searching for the boogie man.... No. No one was in her room, why would anyone be in her room....
Yet she was jumpy. Of course she was jumpy...
THUMP. Another thing hit the window and this time she visibly jumped. Her bed was next to the window and in her leap she fell out of it. She winced as pain shot through her elbow causing her to grip it. Shit.
Carefully and slowly she crept back onto her bed and peered through her window. She kept telling herself she was fine, she was on the second floor of her house, no one could get to her, it was fine. Yet it was 11 o'clock at night... who was throwing things at her window...
Her heart was in her throat as she looked down bellow at the grass of her front lawn. At first she saw nothing, then she noted it. Right near the tree in the yard there were four shadows. She felt as if her head was going to explode and her heart die at the same time. They were in her yard... they knew where she lived. She ducked bellow the window again and let out a low whimper. This was getting FREAKY. How could they be here.... Jasmine wanted to die.
This was terrifying. She could not figure out what was going on... that was probably the worst part. Things were happening so fast she doubted she had even fully wrapped her head around this. Worse yet, she could not even do the whole dramatic 'nope not me,' denial thing. If she were able to do that maybe this would all be easier.
Jasmine wanted to cry... she wanted to scream... she wanted to do neither of those things. It was like she was choking on her feelings and she could not identify them. Her hands were shaking as she grabbed her pillow and clutched it to her chest. She closed her eyes and preyed that they would just leave, assume she was asleep and leave.
THUNK.
Jasmine could not help but jump slightly under the window as another stone hit it. Please go away. Please go away. All she could think was for them to leave. She ignored three more thrown rocks. They were spaced out at about five minutes apart. Just pebbles but the sound was driving her nuts. IT was 25 after when she finally opened the window. Her eyes were watery yet no tears spilled. She did not even know what to do. What did one say at a point like this? IT was terrifying... she had four very attractive, very psychotic stalkers right now....
"Jasmine... come down..." It was Cody's voice that broke the silence in the night air. She could see them all hiding slightly behind the tree. They were stacked up. She could not bring herself to speak so she just shook her head.
"Please..." Skylar this time joined in. They shifted positions. Why would a please work in this situation.
Jasmine took a deep breath before glaring at the four of them. "Leave.... don't ever come back here..." Her words sounded solid but her emotions were a wreck, she was a wreck. She just wanted this to end. She wanted to go back to being the lonely loser in the school, not the girl all the hot guys wanted. This was too freaky, too annoying.
It took a short time but they did, they slowly began conversing among themselves and eventually departed. Jasmine let out a breath of relief , one she did not realize she had been holding. Was life always like this? She closed her window again and silently cried. She was so confused because she did not even know how to feel. This was all too freaky, too real. Shit like this was only supposed to happen in fairy tales, yet here they were.

The tension grows.

Yes, they had all been there. All been at the school for the same two years she had been. Yet she had not once noticed them. This news was a shock to her. After breakfast the boys had helped her to the living room, more escorting her as she did not know her way then helped, and pulled out last years year book to prove their being there. As if to add insult to injury Cody was even their class president, C.J. was the head of the Basketball team, Jason was the head of the Foot ball team, and Skyler lead the school's band. Jesus, she had no idea any of that was possible. All four of the boys were quiet popular. Yet she was still completely freaked out.
Despite how elegant the boys were. Despite how kind and nice they were being to her, they were still stalkers. Eleven years. She had not talked to them since they were five. What worried her more, was the fact that they had taken her to their house, she had no idea where she was, and her mother had been told she went to a friends. She had not bothered to point out to them that she HAD no friends, as it should have been obvious. Yet, they had over looked that fact. Her mother was going to be pissed when she got home. What was worse, she did not want to deal with that but she was also frightened. Sure the boys seemed nice, yet they could still hurt her. IT was clear there was some tension going on.
They did sit with her in the living room as she stared at their photos in the year book, they were all with her, yet all very distant and seemingly glaring at each other. They had not, thank god, raised the issue of the proposal yet, as Jasmine was having a very VERY hard time dealing with all of this.
Then it happened. Her mind went back to something that had been said previously. The boys were busy dissing on each other and harassing one another, except Skylar who worked on keeping the peace, to notice her right away. Jasmine cleared her throat and that was seemingly all it took to get their attention.
"C.J. Mentioned.... that .... you could try... now that he was gone.... who is 'he' and what .... what are you talking about?" Jasmine did not realize how shaky she was. But there was something off. The dreams, things that would not leave her alone, now four boys showing up saying 'he's gone' there was a pit in her stomach.
She watched as all four boys froze at the mention of C.J.'s words. Then in unison all three of the others hit him causing him to yelp and rub at the spots he was hit. An awkward tension built in the air but no one offered to break it. They all seemed unable to make eye contact with Jasmine at that point. Why? What was so wrong. Jasmine held her breath.
Once more she asked. "What... did C.J. Mean when he said he was gone... who is gone? ... " Jasmine wanted to know , no, she needed to know. For the sake of her own sanity she needed to find out what this was all about. The other thought nagging at her mind .... why her? Why were they there, and why for her? Yes, she could see them, but she was just... normal... so why were they there for her.
This would be the point in every Romance movie, drama, or bad sitcom, where the boys would cave and spill all their deep dark hidden secrets, they would explain why she was the one they wanted and it would all become clear. Yet the did not. That did not happen, no one opened their mouth to speak. She was left in the dark to sit and wonder and it made her hands grip her shirt , knuckles going white from the tension with which she grabbed it. There were so many things left unanswered. This was not a dream come true. This was a nightmare. She had been abducted.... could it be she was dreaming? NO. She was not so fool hearted to believe that either. This was real, and it was terrifying. Nothing in her life could be this complex.
She stood abruptly. This caused all four of them to jump to their feet but she was already running towards the door. She could hear them call her name as she ran but she did not care. All she cared about in that instant was leaving. Yet , when she reached the door, Skyler was there to stop her. She stared up at him in horror and saw the grief that entered his eyes. She didn't care. Fear gripped her and caused her to take a step away from her.
"Get away from me... all of you... get away." She spun on the rest of the group. Fear was evident in her. There was too much, too fast. It was terrifying. She was threatened to faint again but held off. She needed to stay awake. Needed to keep it together. Her breath was coming in ragged gasps... she was hyper ventilating. As if that were the queue, Skylar moved away from the door. She jerked it open and ran out. She did not pause or turn around as she bolted down the street.
